6 Predictions For UFC Fight Night: Dillashaw Vs. Cruz

3. Travis Browne Vs. Matt Mitrione

Weight Class: Heavyweight Once upon a time, Travis Browne (17€“3€“1) was earmarked for great things in the UFC, including a possible title shot. Then, a spousal abuse scandal, a shocking knockout loss to Andrei Arlovski, and more focus on his dating life (he has been linked to former UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey) than on his fighting skills derailed things. He's long-removed from the trio of wins over Gabriel Gonzaga, Josh Barnett, and Alistair Overeem that brought about all the title talk. Instead, he has a win over Brendan Schaub sandwiched between losses to Fabricio Werdum and Arlovski, and would seem to be falling behind the top of the division. Sunday he meets up with Matt Mitrione (9€“4), one of the few mixed martial artists who has fought his entire career in the UFC. Mitrione is coming off a loss to Ben Rothwell where he was caught in a choke early, but he shouldn't have to worry about that against Browne: the two are likely to keep this standing, and one of these fighters will go to sleep. Browne still has greater upside, and should be able to fight smart enough to take the win. Mitrione has some talent in his hands, but hasn't progressed all that much as a fighter in recent years - he's a low level gatekeeper who will struggle against more rounded fighters. Browne has some of the best elbows in the heavyweight division, and great kicks as well. Look for Browne to win by first round KO.
