6 Quotes From John Carver's Interview That Show Newcastle Were Right To Sack Him

3. He "Tried Everything" He Could At NUFC - Yet The Magpies Were Still Woeful

When a manager admits they "tried everything" they could to get a team back to winning ways, yet returns just three victories from 20 games in charge, then surely they must realise that they were not cut out for the job. Well you'd have thought so - yet in his interview with The Telegraph Carver added:
"I had to try everything I could. "I brought in a motivational speaker, the guy from the Newcastle (Eagles) basketball team. "I tried all the different team bonding things and I actually went to see someone myself - a psychologist - and this person was making me feel so important."
Seeing a psychologist is a moot point because people in all professions do something similar, it is Carver's admission that he "tried everything" that proves Newcastle were right to sack him. Clearly Carver had run out of ideas as to how to turn the team's form around, so the Magpies needed to part company and inject some fresh faces to reinvigorate the club.
