QPR were hit for six by Manchester City - the Magpies simply have no excuse but to win.

Newcastle United have two Premier League games remaining to secure their top-flight future for another season - and they can breathe a little easier knowing that two of the three relegation spots have already been confirmed. Burnley were demoted on Saturday despite a heroic 1-0 victory away at Hull City and Sean Dyche's men will return to the Championship next season. More importantly for the Magpies though was the fact that Queens Park Rangers meekly surrendered 6-0 against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, confirming the west Londoners' relegation. QPR are Newcastle's opponents on Saturday (3pm kick-off) - and that result threw up at least six reasons why John Carver's men should leave the Big Smoke with all three points.
Aston Villa, Sunderland, Leicester City, Hull and Newcastle are the five teams who could still occupy that third and final relegation spot - but a win for the Magpies on Saturday would all-but secure their survival. Carver's side stopped the losing run at eight by claiming a point against West Bromwich Albion last weekend, but now they need to take all three.
