6 Youngsters Who Could Shine At Newcastle This Season

2. Adam Armstrong

Age: 18 Position: Striker Nationality: English Adam Armstrong is arguably the most-exciting talent that Newcastle have but he hasn't developed under the management of Alan Pardew and John Carver. The striker - who made 11 senior appearances last season - has been loaned to Coventry City by Steve McClaren for six months and will hopefully make an impact upon his January return. The lifelong Newcastle fan has an amazing record at international level and has scored 10 goals in 12 games for England Under-17s and nine in nine matches since stepping up to the Under-18s. The Magpies need to nurture him in the same way England Under-18's coach Neil Dewsnip has and not neglect his skills before branding him a failure before he reaches the age of 20 (like they did with Adam Campbell). Everyone is waiting for the Armstrong to be the next Geordie hero - and hopefully he will grab his first senior goal for the club next year.
