7 Early Indications There Is Going To Be No Stopping Manchester City This Season
2. Finishing Teams Off Early
If there is one thing which must be infuriating when playing against City, it is going behind early and simply not being able to get the ball back off them.
Manager Pep Guardiola has prided himself his entire career on playing a high pressing game coupled with keeping the ball, and the second City go ahead, teams need to come and have a go at them, which opens up the pitch for them to kill teams off.
This has been evident already this season, with Watford swept aside in the first half only a few days after Champions League opponents Feyenoord suffered the same fate. The week before that, Liverpool had been in the game, until the opening goal and sending off put City in complete control.
While the game against Palace proved more of a tough nut to crack, once the first goal went in, City simply dismantled Roy Hodgson's men.
If they can continue hitting early goals then there is literally going to be no stopping them with the likes of David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, and Fernandinho pulling the strings.
