7 Players Left Out Of Newcastle's USA Squad - What's It Mean For Their Futures?

The omens do not look good for this bunch...

Newcastle United touched down in the USA on Sunday primed for their three-match tour with 23 of their 24-man squad in tow. New £14.5 million signing Georginio Wijnaldum will join up with the rest of the squad after flying out separately on Wednesday, completing the tour party.

Three goalkeepers (Freddie Woodman, Karl Darlow and Tim Krul), seven defenders (Mike Williamson, Fabricio Coloccini, Curtis Good, Massadio Haidara, Daryl Janmaat, Jamaal Lascelles and Steven Taylor), 10 midfielders (Georginio Wijnaldum, Rolando Aarons, Vurnon Anita, Gael Bigirimana, Jack Colback, Siem de Jong, Shane Ferguson, Yoan Gouffran, Gabriel Obertan and Moussa Sissoko) and four forwards (Adam Armstrong, Papiss Cisse, Ayoze Perez and Emmanuel Riviere) comprise the squad for the USA trip.

However, perhaps more interesting than those who have made the trip to the "land of the brave and the home of the free" are those who did not check-in for the flight and who remain firmly rooted on Tyneside.

Seven players who could justifiably be considered members of the Newcastle first-team squad did not get a place on the plane. And that begs the question: what does the future hold for these seven?
