8 Most Notorious Gym Fights In MMA

5. TJ Dillashaw Vs. Cody Garbrandt

Once upon a time, Cody 'No Love' Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw were teammates at Urijah Faber's Team Alpha Male gym. Former UFC fighter and decorated kickboxer Duane Ludwig became head coach at the gym and struck up a hugely successful partnership with Dillashaw.

When Ludwig left Team Alpha Male, Dillashaw began splitting his time between the gym and Ludwig. This caused a rift between Dillashaw and his teammates at Alpha Male, who accused him of being unfaithful to the team and led to Dillashaw eventually leaving the camp in 2015.

At the same time, fellow Team Alpha Male bantamweight Cody Garbrandt was rising up the ranks, and heading towards a title shot. A war-of-words was going on between Dillashaw and members of Team Alpha Male, which culminated when Garbrandt publicly claimed that he had a video of himself knocking out Dillashaw in sparring prior to the latter's departure from the team.

In the lead-up to their fight at UFC 217 for Garbrandt's UFC Bantamweight Championship, 'No Love' released the grainy footage, which did show him dropping Dillashaw with a counter-right hand.

However despite winning that battle in the training arena, when it came to the fight, Dillashaw would instead emerge victorious, surviving a first-round onslaught before going on to knock Garbrandt out in the second round of their fight to regain his bantamweight title.
