Every four years, the dream is always the same for England fans. Can they repeat the feat of 1966, and bring the World Cup - and football, for that matter - home? Whilst that dream is shared by millions of people, it always ends in failure. And don't expect anything different this time around, unfortunately. The expectations are slightly different this time around, with a few people merely hoping England make it out of the group. But they are still regarded as a potential winner by some, and therefore have to be regarded as overrated. With a seemingly brittle backbone in defence, it will take an attacking miracle for England to progress to the latter stages of this World Cup. Their group is fiendishly tough, and progressing out of that has to be regarded as a job well done for Roy Hodgson and his men. Of course, there is always the potential for one nation to shock everyone and get seriously far in the World Cup - we have seen it all too often, perhaps most recently with Turkey and South Korea back in 2002. But for England, hopes of winning the World Cup for a second time have to be surely considered as distant.
