Another of the newly-promoted strikers has been catching Villa's eye according to the Independent, and like Odion Ighalo, Bournemouth's Callum Wilson had an excellent 2014/15 campaign in the Championship, scoring 20 goals. Villa actually showed an interest in the striker in the January transfer window but were reportedly put off by Bournemouth's asking price. The ex-Coventry man has a release clause of £7 million, which would probably be within Villa's budget, and a return to the Midlands may be on the cards for Wilson. Several clubs including Arsenal and Chelsea have expressed an interest in Wilson but Villa would represent a good opportunity for first-team football.
