8 Worst Replacements For World Class Footballers

5. Peter Schmeichel To Mark Bosnich

In his recent autobiography, Sir Alex Ferguson said the following about Bosnich:

"Mark got off to a really bad start. He turned up three hours late for his first day's training and he was overweight."

To be honest, it didn't get much better for Bosnich at United. He'd been brought in to replace one of the greatest goalkeepers to ever play the game, and clearly struggled to cope with the pressure of the role.

One of the most well known flops, Mark Bosnich failed forwards in his second spell at United, moving on to Chelsea afterwards. At Stamford Bridge, he made 5 appearances, and then left football for eight years. Not ideal.
