Born: North Shields Newcastle United: 2004 (loan) Position: Forward Premier League Appearances: 6 Premier League Goals: 0 Michael Bridges may count as a Geordie seeing as he was born in North Shields, but he has an affinity to Sunderland as well. Having progressed through the Black Cats' academy, he played for Newcastle's bitter rivals between 1995 and 1999 before returning on loan and then permanently in 2005. Bridges did make six appearances on loan at Newcastle from Leeds United in 2004, but the perennially-injured striker failed to net for the Magpies.
