Arsenal Transfers: 10 Strikers Arsene Wenger Must Target This Summer
3. Edin Dzeko
Despite Edin Dzeko finally living up to his price tag at Manchester City with 16 Premier League goals last season, the Bosnian is still facing an uncertain future this summer. Dzeko arrived at City from Wolfsburg for £27 million in January 2011 - a fee that was then the club's second-highest figure spent on a player after Robinho's £32.5 million move from Real Madrid. However, the forward had a difficult start to his life in Manchester before turning it around last season, having to settle as a substitute under the reigns of Roberto Mancini and his successor Manuel Pellegrini. But he has started adding goals to his game now and has alerted Arsenal to his potential availability, with City willing to listen to offers due to the fact Dzeko only has one year left on his current deal. Dzeko will only have 12 months left on his contract this summer and is in a strong position to negotiate a cut-price move - possibly to Arsenal, where he is likely to find more success as a first-team regular. However, due to his upturn in form, it remains to be seen how willing City really are to let the forward move on, particularly as they are unlikely to be able to afford an expensive replacement given their recent Uefa sanctions.
