Arsenal Transfers: 5 Players Arsene Wenger Could Spend His £70 Million On

1. Robert Lewandowski The last area of the squad Wenger should seek to improve with his transfer kitty is his attack. He very simply hasn't replaced Robin van Persie with a like-for-like striker much in the same way as he didn't replace Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Alex Song with quality alternatives. That has to stop. If Wenger is going to lose any more of his top stars he has to replace quality with quality or Arsenal are simply going to descend into an unsuccessful feeder club for the likes of City. A way to avoid that is by bringing in a top notch centre forward and Robert Lewandowski could do a great job at the Emirates. Along with Manchester United, Arsenal have made their interest known in the Dortmund man and the Gunners do need someone who can get them 30 goals-a-season like van Persie used to do. Lewandowski has 36 goals to his name this season, is the second top scorer in the Champions League and has bagged 24 goals in the Bundesliga. If Wenger can find a way to convince him to move to London, as well as building on the areas of the squad outlined in this article, the Gunners might not enter a ninth year without a trophy. Cost: £18 millionTotal Spend: £60.1 millionThat's just over £60 million of the £70 made available for Wenger to spend on great players. Who would you like Arsenal to spend with their transfer war chest? Let us know in the comment section, below.
