Arsenal Transfers: Chelsea's David Luiz In Shock Talks Over Emirates Move
The Brazillian defender is seeking a move to the red side of London.
BBC Sport reports that 32-year old Chelsea defender David Luiz is seeking a shock move away from Stamford Bridge to rivals Arsenal as the summer transfer window nears closing.
The one-time Premier League winner did not train with the first-team Chelsea squad in a bid to further push a move to the Emirates.
Despite signing a fresh two-year contract in May, violating the Blues' club policy of not handing players in their thirties and older more than one-year contracts, the Brazilian veteran centre-back has made his desire to leave clear Stamford Bridge in recent days.
With new coach Frank Lampard seemingly having a new found faith in a Zouma/Christensen centre back pairing this pre-season, it is very unlikely that Luiz will be a major part of Lampard's first team plans in the coming season.
The Blues are unable to make any new additions to their squad this summer due to their current transfer ban. However, Luiz's departure may not leave a huge dent in the Blues squad with strong back-ups such as Christensen, Zouma and Rudiger also vying for places.
