Arsenal vs Stoke – 5 Ways The Gunners Can Break Down The Potters
In the opening games of the season, I think it's safe to say that Arsenal have been one of the most impressive sides in the league. Their quality attacking performances and resolute defence have caught the eye of quite a few already, with the performances of Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud catching the eye in particular. After a terrible start at home to Aston Villa, the Gunners have won 6 games in a row and don't look like taking their foot off the pedal any time soon. Arsenal have scored an impressive 14 goals in those games and conceded just 3. In the league, Wenger's men sit 2nd after their 4 games with 9 points. A 3-1 defeat to Villa on the opening day caused many to write the Gunners off before the season was barely a day old, but a 3-1 win at Fulham was followed up by a 1-0 derby win against North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and another 3-1 win, this time away at Paolo Di Canio's Sunderland. In the Champions League, Arsenal emphatically won their qualifier against Fenerbahce with a 5-0 aggregate win, and subsequently showed they deserved to be their with a 2-1 win away in Marseille. Stoke, on the other hand, have also made a smart start to the new season. They sit 9th after Mark Hughes' first four games on 7 points, their only loss coming on the opening day against top of the table Liverpool. The Potters have claimed wins over West Ham and Crystal Palace (as well as a convincing win in the League Cup against Walsall), and a draw at home to title hopefuls Manchester City. They were able to hold City to a 0-0 draw, at the Sky Blues struggled to break down a strong Stoke defence - so here we take a look at 5 ways the Gunners can break down the Potters.
