Arsene Wenger Insists He Won't Leave Arsenal This Summer

he will see out the remainder of his contract, which expires next year. In addition, for the first time publicly, the Frenchman hinted that he would like to extend his contract and remain with Arsenal beyond that expiration date in 2014. Current Paris St. Germain boss, Carlo Ancelotti, seems destined to leave the club at the end of the season, having fallen out with the club's sporting director, Leonardo. Previously, it had been suggested that PSG's Qatari owners were confident of luring Wenger away from North London, with some reports even suggesting the deal had been agreed in principle. However, in a press conference ahead of his team's match with Queens Park Rangers, Wenger categorically dismissed the rumours.

"I respect my contracts," Wenger told reporters. "I want to stay if I do well and if the club considers that I do well. That is all. I believe a big club should be run where everybody does his job and I try to do my job. The only thing I can say is I do it with a lot of commitment and a lot of loyalty. I try to do as well as I can for this club."
Arsenal have ended the season in fine form, taking 17 points from their last 7 matches as they chase an all-important top 4 finish. And Wenger has added to suggestions that the Gunners could be extremely busy in the summer transfer window, by speaking about the club's current financial strength.
"We have gone through a period that was very sensitive," he said, speaking of their financial situation since their move to the Emirates Stadium. "We are coming out of it now, in a much better position. I believe this club is in a very strong position for the future."
