Aston Villa Transfers: 10 Goal-Scorers Lambert Should Break His Neck To Buy

4. Danny Ings

The Burnley striker is big news at the minute: with his contract running down in the summer he's one of the more affordable sure-things available to sides looking for attacking improvements, and while Liverpool are said to be sniffing around, if Ings wants to play he shouldn't be looking at Anfield. Competition at Liverpool will limit him to a similar role as Rickie Lambert, whose career has ground to a halt since his move in the summer, and he would be a great foil to play alongside Christian Benteke (provided he doesn't leave himself) and to take advantage of Villa's pace through midfield. If he could score 8 to 10 goals before the end of season, that would be a major advantage to the Villa cause.
