Aston Villa Transfers: 5 Reasons Why Paul Lambert Shouldn't Buy Wes Hoolahan

As we enter transfer deadline day, one of the big talking points will be on Wes Hoolahan. At the time of writing he remains a Norwich City player €“ but that may not necessarily still be the case by late Friday night. The latest seems to be a case of Chris Hughton investigating comments that the Irish midfielder has allegedly made that put Norfolk in a less than favourable place. It seems to me that this is a fairly obvious attempt to force a move through to Aston Villa, so it€™s very much a case of watching this space. I will be taking a slightly different tact on things for this slideshow though, as I look at the reasons why Aston Villa shouldn€™t be pursuing the player. As always there will be a combination of opinion and stats from Who Scored. Obviously, Paul Lambert worked with Hoolahan when they were both at Norwich, and with him under some flak at Villa; it€™s certainly understandable why he wants to reunite with an old friend. The Irish midfielder probably enjoyed his best football under Lambert, and the fact that Grant Holt is now at Villa Park is just another reason to why the proposed transfer will appeal to him.
