7. Sergi Darder (Malaga)

Last season Villa signed Carles Gil and Carlos Sanchez from Valencia and Malaga respectively so it seems fair to assume La Liga is high up on the club's preferred scouting location list. It's no surprise then that one name to be frequently linked with Villa is that of Malaga midfielder Sergi Darder. More defensively-minded than Delph, the Spanish U21 international has already made an impressive 66 appearances for the Andalusian club already. Despite signing a new contract with the La Liga club last November the 21-year-old was recently linked with Villa in reports from Italy.
