6. Nampalys Mendy (Nice)

According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa could be set for a second signing from Ligue 1's Nice. Jordan Amavi's move to Villa from the French club was confirmed last week and now Sherwood could swoop for the Nice's Nampalys Mendy who represented France at youth level. If a move is to happen the Villa boss will have to fight off stern competition from Leicester City, who have also been linked with the 23-year-old. Mendy, who made 38 appearances for Nice last season, played for Monaco under new Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri so could be keen to link up with the Italian in the Premier League.
