Recently several Tottenham players have been linked with moves to Villa due to the Sherwood factor, but a move for Tom Carroll could be a realistic option. Spurs have several options in midfield and while the 23-year-old recently spoke of his desire to fight for a first-team place, a loan move might suit both parties. Villa have already spent £6 million on midfielder Idrissa Gueye so could favour a less expensive loan option for any further additions. Carroll made 13 league appearances on loan at Swansea last season and could perhaps be persuaded to continue his development under Tim Sherwood.
