Blackburn Rovers Captain Christoper Samba Joins Anzhi For £12 Million

Premier League club agree terms with rich Russian side ahead of their transfer window closing tonight.

Blackburn Rovers captain Christopher Samba is on the verge of joining Russian side FC Anzhi Makhachkala in a £12 million deal, according to the Telegraph. 27 year old Congo international Samba has been desperate to leave Blackburn since he handed in a transfer request and was frustrated when a move to Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur in the January Transfer Window was blocked by Rovers' big price-tag. He hasn't played for the club since January 2nd with Rovers boss Steve Keen proclaiming that his head wasn't right for selection. Now it looks like his desire to leave Ewood Park is finally about to happen. The Russian transfer window closes tonight, a few weeks after the Premier League mid-season window and it is believed a deal was struck between the two clubs and Samba just needs to agree personal terms. Blackburn valued Samba at £15 million, a price a Premier League club never came close to matching, but it is believed the £12 million offer from Anzhi has been agreed. Anzhi are managed by Guus Hiddink and have one of the biggest bank accounts in world football with Samuel Eto'o believed to be on ‚20 million after tax per season, making him the world's highest paid football. They also have 38 year old Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos on their books as Captain and he will be on a similar kind of deal.
