Bolton Agree Fee For Watford's Marvin Sordell

England U21 pulled out of game against Millwall to begin personal talks with Owen Coyle's men.

Following a largely uninspiring transfer window, Bolton Wanderers have finally made their first major strides into the market today after signing midfielder Ryo Miyaichi on loan from Arsenal and now seemingly closing in on the signing of Watford's young striking star Marvin Sordell. A fee around the £3m mark has now been agreed, and the club will open talks over the England U21's personal terms after he was pulled out of tonight's game in the Championship game against Millwall, at the request of Watford owner Laurence Bassini. The 20-year-old has gathered a lot of attention in the past season or so after an impressive record for Watford, with interest from Fulham and mooted interest from Newcastle United at the start of the window, but Bolton are the only team to have made a concrete move for the striker who now looks set to join Owen Coyle's team, and hopefully, for Bolton fans, help to change fortunes. Bolton were earlier in the day linked with Middlesbrough centre-half Rhys Williams (again, another rumoured target for Newcastle), but saw a £6m bid turned down from the Teessiders.
