BREAKING Chelsea Transfer News: Demba Ba To Hold Talks At Stamford Bridge

Chelsea closing in on Demba Ba?

Sky Sports News. The player has a release clause of £7.5 million in his current contract at St James' Park, however reports surfaced today that the player's market value would rocket to £12.5 million with his representatives demanding between £3 million and £5 million to negotiate any transfer. Chelsea are one of a few clubs who could both afford to pay that sort of fee and manage the players extravagant wage demands, believed to be £85,000-per-week. Both Arsenal and Parist St Germain were said to be willing to meet those demands in the January window, however the current European Champions have stolen a march on their rivals by directly approaching both Newcastle and the player over a move. Reports also suggested the two parties will meet over the coming days so that a deal can be wrapped up by early January. Demba Ba would be viewed as the replacement for Daniel Sturridge at Stamford Bridge. Sturridge is leaving for Liverpool in January. Demba Ba joined the Magpies in the summer of 2011 on a free transfer from West Ham United. Last night he scored a brace against Arsenal in his sides' 7-3 defeat at the Emirates.
