This changed over the course of a few days at the Lea Valley White Water Centre, as despite having the slowest run in the semi-final of their event, the C-2 slalom, the pairing of Tim Baillie and Etienne Stott accomplished an unexpected victory, with their compatriots David Florence and Richard Hounslow coming in second place. Both pairs finished ahead of the much fancied Hochshorner brothers from Slovakia, who have ten World Cup victories to their names, in a year where all four also achieved a team gold medal in the European Championships, beating the Slovakian siblings once more. 37. Kevin Sinfield
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tV9ulehCJ4 Sport - Rugby League The popularity of rugby league in the UK is limited in scope, with the majority of teams coming from the Yorkshire area and surrounding counties, where the annual Super League competition is amongst the most popular spectator sporting events. The Leeds Rhinos are one of the countrys most successful teams, having won the 2012 Super League with a victory over the Warrington Wolves in the final. The victory compensated for the teams loss to the same Warrington team in the Challenge Cup, and was supplemented with further success in the World Club Challenge, in which the West Yorkshire side beat their Australian opponents, the Melbourne Storm, to finish the season with two major honours. Captaining the side throughout was stand-off Kevin Sinfield, who appeared in every one of the teams games throughout the year, becoming their all-time top points scorer, winning the Harry Sunderland trophy (awarded to the best player in the Super League final) in the process and being announced as the new captain of the English national side in the process.
