David Marshall: Saved from Michu and an offside Bony. Not a great deal to do, but what the Scottish stopper did was decent enough. 6/10. Kevin Theophile-Catherine: Crosses blocked time and again. A baffling summer signing, but physical enough to limit little Routledge from getting forward. 5/10. Steven Caulker: Good set piece threat from the former Spurs and Swansea man. Got on the end of Bellamy corner to score. Great defending to deny Bony thereafter. A towering presence in both areas. Our man of the match. 7/10. Ben Turner: A good partner for Caulker. Forced Michu and Bony to go deep in search of the ball. Overshadowed by his fellow centre half though. 5.5/10. Andrew Taylor: Frustrated Dyer throughout. With Swansea's wide threat nullified this was an accomplished performance from ex-Middlesbrough man. 6/10. Don Cowie: Always looking to exploit space. Mackay's faithful retainer was as industrious as anyone in the middle. 6/10. Jordon Mutch: Heard he was one to watch. Left wondering what all the fuss was about. Never got his foot on the ball in midfield long enough to make an impact. Subbed. 4.5/10. Gary Medel: More retriever than pitbull. England midfielders will hardly be quaking in their boots ahead of the Chile friendly based on this performance. More effective at passing from deep than his destructive reputation suggested. Subbed. 6/10. Peter Whittingham: Good corner deliveries as ever, but kicked out at Chico Flores for no apparent reason. Deservedly booked for an uncharacteristic outburst. 5.5/10. Craig Bellamy: Saw a free kick deflected over by Britton in first half. Got the assist for Caulker's winner. A consistent wide threat. Old habits die hard though as he got into a verbal exchange with Rangel. 6.5/10. Peter Odemwingie: Toiled away leading the line, but to no avail. Must do more to justify his wages. Campbell contributed more within seconds of coming on. 4.5/10. Subs: Aron Gunnarsson: Took over from anonymous Mutch and the Iceland captain always looked to break forward. Decent cameo in midfield. 5.5/10. Fraizer Campbell: Much better threat than Odemwingie in attack, but Mackay only gave him 15-20 minutes off the bench. Harried defenders all the time. 6.5/10. Kim Bo-Kyung: Only got on late. Rating N/A.
