The start of the 2014/15 season hasn't exactly gone as planned so far, but with the glimmer of European qualification still very much alive, and the perpetual chance of running away with the SPL as long as no great rival appears, a bad start could make way to a good season. But there is work to be done, not least on the squad as it stands: Ronny Deila can only do so much with what is available and he needs his board to make funds available to strengthen, or the club will not move forward. With the very real possibility of an Old Firm reunion next season, Celtic cannot stand to stagnate, and only a strong season, and a strong statement of intent in every competition they are in will suffice. And that will mean boosting the squad and boosting the quality of the first team. Affordability is clearly necessary, with the club's transfer agenda at the minute dictating mostly minimal outlay, so with that in mind, the prices of the players suggested here are either negligible or very much affordable.
