UEFA Champions League: Arsenal's 20 Greatest Goals

19. Abou Diaby v Liverpool 2007/2008

Arsenal headed into the game with a 2-0 deficit against Premier League rivals, Liverpool. They had the difficult task of not only turning around the deficit but to beat the Scousers at Anfield. This would be the third time these two clubs would meet in six days and this game was the highlight of the three. Arsenal were on the front foot early on and capitalised on their dominance by finding the back of the net. After Liverpool 'keeper Pepe Reina made a fine save, Alexandr Hleb picked up the loose ball and found an on running Diaby who smashed the ball low and hard to beat the Spaniard at his near post. Arsenal went on to loose the game 4-2.
