Chelsea Transfer News: Andre Schurlle Deal Imminent

talkSPORT. The German international's representatives are in London to conclude the deal, with Bayer's CEO, Wolfgang Holzhauser and sporting director Rudi Voller currently locked in the final stages of negotiations with the reigning European Champions. Chelsea had a £14 million bid for the 21-year old knocked back last summer, and then, it was understood the Blues were willing to offer starlet Kevin de Bruyne on loan as part of the deal. However, it is the new higher bid of £20 million that has been accepted by the Bundesliga outfit, with the young Belgian remaining at Stamford Bridge. The signing of Schurlle will give Chelsea added impetus in attack. The German is endowed with both strength and versatility and can play anywhere in attack, and has scored a total of 11 goals in 38 games for Sami Hyypia's side this season. Chelsea's decision to enter the market for a new striker however could spell the end for misfiring Fernando Torres, who is still yet to score a Premier League goal in 2013.
