Chelsea Transfers: 10 Players Who Could Be Sold By Jose Mourinho This Summer

10. Demba Ba

Starting with an obvious one, Ba has struggled for minutes and goals ever since his arrival at Chelsea midway through last season. He started brightly, with two goals on his debut in a 5-1 demolition of Southampton in the FA Cup, but has since been locked to the bench by respective managers' hopes of being the one to coax Fernando Torres into coming good. Ba's stuttering Blues career can't be entirely blamed on managerial oversight, however, as while the Spaniard has looked abysmal almost every time he's taken the field, Ba has struggled to make an impact in his limited opportunities himself. True, it's difficult to get a run of form going when you're constantly coming off the bench, but to have scored only 5 league goals in 29 league appearances is a terrible record - and two of those came against Tottenham - and his grand total of 11 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions isn't much better. He's struggled to even make good on his paltry £7m transfer fee. His muscularity and unpredictable movement means he definitely has something to offer, but the failure to find the back of the net is what has really damned him. He's a dead cert to leave this season, and while many Chelsea fans would appreciate his efforts, it's unlikely he'll be remembered for long once he leaves the Stamford Bridge bench for the last time.
