Chelsea Transfers: 10 Possible January Deals

8. Sami Khedira IN

A World Cup winner always attracts interest post-tournament, and none more so than one whose contract expires at the conclusion of the following season. That's exactly the case of German midfielder Sami Khedira and a number of Premier League clubs on his tail, all pining for a January swoop. Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been linked with Khedira, but the hopes of any club signing the Real Madrid ace were dashed earlier in the week. The Spanish giants are unlikely to want to sell any of their midfield personnel after Luka Modric picked up a knock during the international break just gone, ruling him out until the new year. That essentially kills off the chances of Khedira plying his trade anywhere but the Bernabeu for at least the remainder of this term. Is that really cause for the Blues' concern, though? With Nemanja Matic, Ramires, John Obi Mikel and Cesc Fabregas in the squad, Chelsea are hardly in dire need of reinforcements in the centre of the park. Fabregas and Matic, a consummate blend of silk and steel, have looked one of the best midfield duos in Europe, and there's virtually no player in the world who could warrant splitting them up. Probability: 5/10
