Chelsea Transfers: 5 Players Di Matteo Must Sign To Win Premier League

5. Arjen Robben

Age: 28 Club: Bayern Munich Price: + £15 million Arjen Robben€™s first spell at Stamford Bridge was by and large very successful, but unfortunately was overshadowed with injury. But having seen the flying Dutchman put in a few seasons relatively injury free, now is the time for Chelsea to bring him back. Since his first spell at the Blues, Robben has progressed as a player, becoming one of the leading wingers in world football and would surely complete Chelsea out wide. The likelihood of Robben rejoining Chelsea isn€™t as farfetched as people may believe. Robben was the subject to a backlash from the Munich fans, following his penalty miss in the Champions League final in May, and has shown through his various moves throughout his career, he is not a player who is desperate to stay at one place. Returning to England once more may prove an attractive option although should he choose to leave, again there will be no shortage of takers. What will they get? Chelsea will almost certainly bag themselves a right back in this window and look certain to add more firepower up top. Whether they will decide to reinvest in the midfield, an area I personally believe is where Chelsea need players the most, remains to be seen. It would take the most positive of optimists to see Luka Modric moving across town and the homecoming of Arjen Robben doesn€™t appear to be on the radar of Abramovich and co. However should Chelsea spend wisely, then the Champions League victory shows they more than have a base on which to make an assault on the Premier League crown.
