Chelsea Transfers: 5 Realistic Targets For Jose Mourinho

2. Marco van Ginkel

The Vitesse Arnhem midfielder will be joining Chelsea this summer - according to his agent at least. The 20-year-old was at first thought to be apprehensive over a move to the Premier League and reluctant to leave the Dutch outfit over fears he wouldn't get enough playing time at Stamford Bridge, but the move is now a lot closer to coming to fruition after being assured by the Europa League winners that he will get his fair share of match action in West London. A talented, goal-scoring midfielder, van Ginkel netted 12 times last season and made 41 appearances. He has played for the Netherlands at U21 level and excelled in the recent European Championships in Israel, and has even been capped by the senior side despite his youth, making his sole appearances as a substitute against Germany in the 0-0 draw last November. The capture of the youngster would signal a shift in transfer policy for Jose Mourinho who in the past has been more accustomed to buying in tried-and-tested individuals rather than raw un-nurtured talent. But the Blues do have a few young players coming through at Stamford Bridge in Oscar and Marko Marin and van Ginkel could be the latest fledgling to try his luck in West London. His agent said:
He will leave for Chelsea, he will fit in with the first team."
