Chelsea Transfers: 5 Strikers Jose Mourinho Must Sign Before Window Closes

1. Samuel Eto'o

In a similar way to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Anzhi's Samuel Eto'o could be brought in as a stop-gap at Stamford Bridge this summer. Chelsea are eyeing the former Real Madrid and Barcelona striker as an alternative to Rooney with reports suggesting a deal has even been agreed for Cameroon's all-time top scorer. At 32, Eto'o certainly is not the long-term solution but, like Ibrahimovic, could certainly do a job for the Blues this season. His 10 goals in 25 league appearances last season prove he still knows how to score goals, and he's netted two in four appearances for Anzhi already this season. The African could be used by Mourinho until Manchester United's resolve that Rooney is not for sale softens, with the England international expected to join the Blues either next January or in the summer, at which point Eto'o will be nearing retirement. Do Chelsea need a new striker this summer? What did you make of last night's game? Let us know in the comment section, below.
