College Football: Top 8 Finishes Of The Season

1. Auburn 34 - Alabama 28 (November 30, 2013)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDjzJeWjfNA Fans had to have wondering it is was possible for the Tigers to outdo themselves after Ricardo Louis's miracle catch against Georgia two weeks earlier. The answer was a resounding yes. It doesn't get any better than deciding the SEC West Champion between two hated rivals in Auburn and Alabama. The Crimson Tide were undefeated and needed just one more win to punch their ticket to Atlanta for the second year in a row, Auburn needed to win to do the same. After an uneventful first quarter, Alabama scored three times in a row to take a 21-7 lead late in the second, with most fans thinking we were heading for another typical Crimson Tide blowout. Tre Mason and Auburn wouldn't be denied as the Tigers scored twice to knot the game up at 21 a piece. Senior QB and three-time national champion A.J. McCarron showed off his arm with a 99-yard TD Pass to Amari Cooper to take the lead back with ten minutes remaining, and both defenses forced stalled drives for the next eight minutes before Auburn took the ball at their own 20. Nick Marshall led the Tigers down the field and tied the game with 32 seconds left with a 39-yard TD pass to Sammie Coates. So we're going to Overtime....right? WRONG. Alabama gets down to the Auburn 38 and lines up for a 56 yard Field Goal that would win the game for the Tide. The kick goes short, making Alabama 0 for 4 on FGs for the day. The Tigers send Cornerback Chris Davis to return the kick just in case. Davis caught the ball and ran up the left side of the field untouched for a 100-yard FG return for a score. There are no words, really. One of the best finishes in College Football history. Worst part is I didn't get to watch it. It'll happen again, right?
