Crystal Palace 3-1 West Bromwich Albion: 5 Key Things We Learnt

2. Pulis Did Well On Deadline Day

The final day of the January transfer window saw Tony Pulis bring in four new faces to the club and secure Jason Puncheon, who was previously there on a loan deal, and so far that business worked fantastically. It's still the early stages but from what we've seen from each of the January additions it looks like very good business indeed. With Jason Puncheon they knew what they were getting (aside from comical penalties,) but the others have also demonstrated that they could be the players to keep Palace in the division, and without costing a lot at all. 15 minutes into his Premier League debut Tom Ince opened the scoring, before Joe Ledley, another deadline day signing, also got in on the act with a debut goal to double his sides advantage. At the back meanwhile, Scott Dann didn't find the net but he had a solid game for the Eagles, proving why Pulis brought him back to the Premier League. There's time for things to change but the early impressions are usually the deciding factor for any new signing. Pulis praised his new men after the game and rightly so, because they were brilliant, and the manager will be hoping they can continue that form into the next two, tougher games.
