Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has put pen to paper on a two and a half year deal to play for Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua. He leaves Chelsea after winning every major honour in England - the Barclays Premier League, FA Cup and more recently the Champions League. He scored the decisive penalty against Bayern Munich to ensure cult-status as Europe's biggest prize was won by the Stamford Bridge outfit for the first time in their history. With 157 goals in his eight year tenure at the club, he is fourth on Chelsea'a all time record goalscoring chart. The move means he will now link up with ex-teammate Nicolas Anelka, and one of his first games for his new club will be against Manchester United as part of their pre-season tour of Asia. Drogba told the BBC:
"I'm looking forward to a new challenge and experiencing a new culture, and am excited about developments in the Chinese Super League. "When Chelsea went to China last year, we had a great time and I met some amazing fans. "I hope to help promote Chinese football around the world and further improve the links between China and Africa."
