England's Best Ever Ashes Players

3. James Anderson

anderson The only player on this list who has not retired, James Anderson can already be regarded as one of England's greatest ever bowlers! Just when England fans begin to think that he has peaked, he puts in another great performance and proves that he is by no means finished on the international stage! A fantastic swing bowler, with great control over line and length, Anderson has played 84 test matches at an average of 29.66 with the ball. He is England's 3rd highest wicket taker ever and was the saviour of the opening test match of the 2013 Ashes series as England won by 14 runs. He is also an excellent fielder and all-round athlete, making him an ever-reliable member of the England XI.
