Erik Lamela Never Considered Leaving Spurs

The Argentina international is fully committed to Tottenham.

Erik Lamela has told Corriere Della Sport that, despite interest from other clubs and despite enduring a torrid first season at White Hart Lane, he has always been 100% committed to Spurs and never considered leaving the club. He said:
I read a lot of things in the newspapers and perhaps there were a few enquiries from clubs, but I had no direct contact or doubts about my future. Last season was complicated for me because of injury, but I feel good now. And I have to thank Tottenham for their help and patience €“ they have always shown faith in me. Now I am on the right path and I want to impose myself in the Premier League. A return to Italy one day? I€™m still young and my career will be a long one. But, to be honest, all I€™m thinking about right now is Tottenham. I want to give them my best. I owe them that.
Lamela has looked a completely different player this summer. Starting in pre-season with a number of strong performances - including a two goal haul against Seattle Sounders on Spurs' American tour - he appears to have overcome his injuries and his personal issues and is focused on his game. He has started to perform well in the Premier League and played particularly well having come on as a substitute against AEL Limassol in the Europa League qualifying round first leg. He changed the game with two assists to turn around a 1-0 deficit and give Spurs a 2-1 victory, while he also got a couple of assists in the 4-0 home Premier League win against Queens Park Rangers. Moreover, he's back in the Argentina fold and scored his first international goal - a clinical volley - in their 4-2 win against Germany in Dusseldorf. Are you pleased Erik Lamela stayed at Spurs?
