Its been a torrid title defence for Chelsea, a league campaign that only became watchable when Hiddink took the reins in December. The Dutchman has steadied the ship, although certainly too late to salvage Champions League football. Even Europa League qualification looks a long shot, so all of Chelseas eggs were very much in the FA Cup basket until Everton and Lukaku had their say on the matter. Its been a tough week for Hiddinks side, whose Champions League campaign ended with a whimper in midweek as Paris Saint-Germain coasted to a 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge to progress to the quarter-finals by four goals to two on aggregate. Whoever takes over from Hiddink this summer has an extensive rebuilding task on their hands.
