Everton Transfers: 4 Replacements For Nikica Jelavic

1. Danny Ings - Burnley

Everton have always prided themselves on having a strong English contingent and that€™s the case now with the likes of Ross Barkley, Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka and Gareth Barry. So they may be interested in an English striker doing well in the Championship; Danny Ings. The 21-year-old striker is enjoying the best season of his career with 15 league goals which has helped Burnley sustain a surprise promotion push. His pace and pressing have led to plenty goals for him and his strike partner Sam Vokes. His playing style is very reminiscent of Carlos Tevez, never giving defenders time or space on the ball. A potential worry about Danny Ings is that this is the first and only season he has shown this kind of form. Last season he only scored three league goals. Although at 21 he has his whole career in front and is only likely to improve in the future. So it could be worth the gamble. Burnley have recently signed Brighton striker Ashley Barnes for an undisclosed fee. With Vokes and Ings in such great form you would think the last position Burnley needed to strengthen was in attack. This may indicate that if the right offer comes in for Ings, Burnley will be willing to listen. They have a history of selling their promising strikers. They sold Charlie Austin to Queens Park Rangers for £4 million last summer and Jay Rodriquez to Southampton for £7 million the summer before that. Burnley won€™t want to lose Ings in January but history suggests they€™ll sell for the right price.
