After already doing some good work in the transfer market - not least the acquisition of Romelu Lukaku and the long-term contract that they tied Ross Barkley to - Everton look set to unveil another high-profile signing before the transfer deadline stops business dead. Having previously been linked with Liverpool - before Mario Balotelli sauntered his way into Anfield - Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o looks set to become the latest addition to Roberto Martinez's Blues revolution, according to Sky sources. According to ESPN, when Martinez decided that he needed to add another forward to his available options - with Arouna Kone out injured and the worrying injury to Lukaku against Everton - he had a couple of options: either to go with free agent Eto'o and inevitably play him a hefty contract, or try and convince Manchester United to part with Danny Welbeck for a reasonable sum that would fit the rest of the budget. With Ross Barkley also out injured, and goals looking potentially scarce, Martinez has clearly decided that Eto'o is the best option having been released by Chelsea at the end of the summer. He will now sign a two year deal at the club - despite being 33 - which suggests that Everton have faith that he will be able to recapture the form of last season that saw him score 12 goals in 35 games before falling out with Jose Mourinho. Etoo could now complete his move in time for a reunion with his old boss for Saturdays Premier League clash with Chelsea at Goodison Park, and would no doubt be extremely happy to show Mourinho exactly why age doesn't matter.
