Everton Transfers: Toffees Complete £13.5m Striker Deal

Everton have made a bold statement in the final hours of transfer deadline day by signing Lokomotiv Moscow's Oumar Niasse for £13.5m. The 25-year-old Senegalese striker underwent a medical on Merseyside earlier in the day and the club have now confirmed the deal. It's a coup - which is why Everton have made him the third most expensive player in Everton's history - he was voted the Russian Premier League's player of 2015 and he has impressive stats to back up his price tag. In 21 games for Lokomotiv this season, he scored 12 goals and impressively laid on 10 assists for team-mates, and his unorthodox style should suit Romelu Lukaku as a supporting striker. Russian football expert and commentator John Bradley offered his assessment of the striker to the Liverpool Echo, suggesting that he's somewhat unorthodox but that his style adds up to goals:

"He was a bit of a late bloomer in terms of coming over from Turkey, where he scored 22 goals in 34 games for Akhisar Belediyespor in the Super Lig. But he wasn't on the radar of many before he came over to Russia. Lokomotiv are quite inconsistent and tend to sell their top players but he's helped them make a strong start to this season. "He's a bit unorthodox. Sometimes he can look a bit ungainly, even clumsy. But for all the bumbling he still finds a way to score goals. That's what I like about him. He is effective. The Lokomotiv fans like him because he has such a good work ethic and that will stand him in good stead with the Everton supporters too I think."
