Everton vs Sunderland - FA Cup Match Preview

Sunderland’s turn around under Martin O’ Neill would look all the more impressive if they had a trophy to show for it.

Team News

Everton: Steven Pienaar is cup-tied as he has appeared for Tottenham in the competition and Darren Gibson is unlikely to be fit. Expect to see a much changed side from the eleven that slumped to defeat against the Reds midweek. Sunderland: Nicklas Bendtner should be fit enough to play, but Sessegnon and Catermole are joined by crocked duo Titus Bramble and Wes Brown on the sidelines. Kieron Richardson is also struggling to be fit.

Probable Starting Line-ups

Everton (4-4-2): Howard; Neville, Heitinga, Distin, Baines; Coleman, Fellaini, Osman Drenthe; Cahill, Jelavic. Sunderland (4-4-2): Mignolet; Bardsley, O€™Shea, Turner, Bridge; Larsson, Colback, Gardner, McClean; Bendtner, Campbell

My Prediction:

Sunderland have a woeful record at Goodison Park and they are struggling with suspension. Both sides are in good form (apart from the Toffees€™ midweek blip), but I think the home advantage will be just enough for Everton to scrape it 1-0.
