For many, Brazil more than any other nation are synonymous with the World Cup. The Seleção define the sense of magic and otherworldliness better than any other side, with the likes of Pele, Ronaldo and Garrincha lighting up international tournaments in a manner it seems only a generational Brazilian talent can.

However, as with Ringo being the “worst Beatle”, this Brazil side is arguably the weakest of those who make up the five stars above the Brazilian crest.

A side made up of Taffarel, Bebeto, Leonardo, Romario and a 17-year-old Ronaldo, overcame the Netherlands 3-2 on the way to the final, whilst never truly setting the tournament alight.

The final would be the only ever scoreless final after 120 minutes and the penalty shootout would perhaps be the most notable part. Baggio’s infamous miss that is perhaps still in orbit handed Brazil their first title in 24 years- a relative drought for the Brazilians.

A team of unarguable quality that perhaps suffers from the '94 World Cup being widely deemed a forgettable one.
