Every Player Newcastle Were Linked With In June
The list is reaching crazy proportions now - but NUFC are still yet to make a signing...
The transfer window is officially open. Transfer silly season may have started weeks ago but, as of July 1st, European clubs can officially sign and sell their players - yet Newcastle United have still failed to recruit a single body. Having only just confirmed their Premier League status on the final day of last season, the Magpies want to avoid a repeat of such a scenario during the 2015-16 campaign. Steve McClaren was unveiled as the Magpies' new boss more than three-and-a-half weeks ago and yet he has not been able to unveil his first signing at the club. Newcastle have been linked with upwards of 80 - yes that is correct - faces so far this transfer window but the club have failed to get even one signing over the line as of yet. As ever, plenty of players have been linked with a move to St James Park with no action coming out of St James Park at the time of writing this article. If United could get even a fraction of the players they have been linked with over that proverbial line, then next season could be a lot brighter than many could have ever expected. So here are all of the players Newcastle United were linked with in June, organised by position - and there are some exciting, unusual (and also quite frankly ludicrous) names on the list...
