Manager: Manuel Pellegrini

Points: 86

Other Honours: League Cup

Two years on from their first title, City were maturing into a well oiled machine, scoring a staggering 102 goals en-route to snatching the title from a Luis Suarez-inspired Liverpool side.

New manager Pellegrini was a step up from Mancini, players including Pablo Zabaleta and Fernandinho were an improvement on Micah Richards and Gareth Barry but in truth this season was all about Yaya Toure. The Ivory Coast midfielder recorded 20 goals and nine assists in the league alone to secure a double.

All this while fighting off two strong rivals in Liverpool and Mourinho's Chelsea.
