5. Ryan Shawcross- £5.5million
Commencing this list is Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross. A rock in a notoriously tough defence, Shawcross has played his part in orchestrating 7 points for the Potteries- including a goal in the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace. Since achieving 2 points in the season opener against Liverpool,Shawcross has picked up a clean sheet bonus on two occasions, points for the Palace goal and has also managed to accrue 3 further points in general bonuses, which translates in to 22 points over 3 gameweeks. The 3-1 defeat to Arsenal was a rare blip in their defensive disclipine, so I'd expect them to be solid as usual as the return to the Britannia. Facing the unenviable task of trying to break through the Stoke defence are a Norwich team who are on the back of two defeats where they haven't breached opposition defences. At £5.5million, he is one of a number of defenders in that price bracket and should be affordable to those who haven't already selected him.
