Benjamin Mendy is almost like a brand new signing for Manchester City, with the World Cup winning left-back only making a few league appearances last season before sustaining a cruciate ligament injury that saw him sit out almost the entire remainder of the season.

Whenever Mendy was on the pitch, however, City fans were very impressed with his talents. The Frenchman is blessed with a lot of pace and can whip in some excellent crosses for the forwards, creating chance after chance for the likes of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus to stick in the back of the net.

In his sole season with Monaco before moving to City, Mendy provided ten assists in all competitions, and five of those were in the league. As long as he can stay fit, he can improve on those numbers with City.

Pep Guardiola's attack-minded side scored a crazy amount of goals last year and relies on the full-backs pushing forward and contributing to offensive moves, so it's likely that Mendy, priced at £6m in the fantasy game, could turn out to be one of the top assisting defenders of the season.
