Fantasy Premier League Tips: 15 Best Cheap Players For 2017-18
2. Christian Benteke - £8m
Team: Crystal Palace
It's probably fair to say that Christian Benteke has flattered to deceive since his boom days with Aston Villa, but last year was a step up, with the Belgian scoring 15 goals and assisting twice. Considering this was in the absolutely toothless Palace team that managed only 39 in total, he probably deserves the keys to the city.
With Frank De Boer likely to turn around their attacking fortunes, Benteke will only become even more key to their goals - and if Zaha does too, the main striking outlet at the club will benefit doubly. The fact that he's only priced at £8m feels more like a reflection of his struggles at Liverpool and Palace's overall fortunes, rather than his goals haul last year, so take advantage of the mistake.
Crucially, even if Benteke was off the boil, he still had 41 shots on target last year (the sixth best in the league) and he was second only to Sergio Aguero in terms of shots in the box. If he can find his shooting boots a bit more, he might well eclipse some of the strikers priced at £10m and above.
